Early in my career I made a few simple games with RPG Maker. A couple of them have interesting stories attached.
I was Miss Congeniality in the 2018 Miss Subways pageant, and my talent was Video Game Design. I brought my laptop on stage so the judges could play the game while I talked to the audience about game design (while wearing a swimsuit and heels, of course). The game is about a girl competing in the “Miss Subways” pageant, and was carefully designed so that the judges could get through it in the two minutes I had on stage.
It was a simple old-fashioned RPG, but it impressed the judges. I suppose they weren’t expecting the leggy blonde in the pink swimsuit to be a computer nerd too.

I tried out for an adult cheerleading team, and all the candidates had one minute to do a presentation of our talents besides cheerleading. So I made a simple game about cheerlding.
Charli’s Cheer Challenge was very short, and very simple, but it helped me make it onto the squad! And some of the features eventually made their way into my commercial game, Cheerleader’s Choice by Choice of Games.
